The area that is to be treated is injected with a longworking anaesthetic combined with adrenaline. The donor area on the back of the head determines the number of transplants and the resulting thickness. Per session 3000 to 5000 hairs (around 1400-1600 grafts) can be transplanted.

Prior to treatment it is necessary to determine the type of hair loss - the two main kinds are:

1. androgenetic hair loss
2. hair loss due to disease

Under certain circumstances , for example diabetes, acute hepatitis, etc., hair transplantation is not possible.
